SAN FRANCISO
Spend 3, 5, or 7 days exploring the San Francisco Bay area before the thick summer fog descends! Depending on where you want our wanderings to take you, we might:
- explore one (or a few) of the city’s distinct neighborhoods on a walking tour,
- peruse locally-grown organic produce at a farmers’ market,
- cook a feast under the guidance of an experienced chef,
- browse the art collections of the de Young Museum and the Legion of Honor,
- sip freshly-roasted coffee, hand-picked premium tea, or perfectly-balanced cocktails in the Mission District,
- soak in the beauty of the Pacific on a day hike along the coast,
- marvel at the ancient trees of Muir Woods,
- meander through the Botanic Gardens and/or ride bikes (or segways) in Golden Gate Park,
- tour Alcatraz — presently home to a special exhibition of dissident artist Ai Weiwei’s site-specific installations,
- visit the historic light house in Point Reyes,
- sample unique wines at any number of local vineyards in Sonoma and/or Napa,
- tour a craft brewery or distillery, or an area farm,
- venture over the Sierra to Yosemite National Park,
- relax in a unique “cedar enzyme bath” at a highly-acclaimed day spa in a tiny hippy hamlet north of the city,
- ride bikes on picturesque Highway 1, around the Bolinas lagoon,
- take a surf lesson at Ocean Beach,
- hop the ferry to Angel Island or take a day cruise on the Bay,
- attend a reading at the famed City Lights Bookstore,
